Why Some People Elect Not To Get Catastrophic Coverage
The fact of the matter is that not all individuals carry catastrophic (‘Major Medical’) coverage—or they elect not to for various reasons.
Some—especially younger adults—don’t believe they’ll ever need it, but for a vast majority of people who do not carry major medical, it is because they either can’t afford it or they believe they can’t afford it and never look into it.
In a perfect world, we believe that all patients should have major medical coverage for catastrophic events, even if it is unlikely that the coverage will be used.
